The Software follows three basic steps to recover the data. First this Software analyzes the data, then it searches and saves the data. The Software works in three different modes: Quick, Advance and Raw Recovery modes.

Quick mode: Quick Recovery mode is the basic mode of Novell Recovery Software. This Mode works quickly and it analyzes the data and displays the files. Most of the cases are resolved in this mode, so this mode has to be run firstly. Cases where Partition, boot records, FAT is corrupted, Quick Recovery mode helps to get the results quickly.

Advance mode:This is the secondary mode of Novell Recovery Software. You can use this mode where Quick mode fails to provide the required file you want to recover. In this mode, the Software performs an exhaustive scan and shows all the lost or deleted files that can be recovered. You can use this mode in extreme cases like changed Partitions, broken directory entries or long lost folders.

Raw Recovery mode: This is the last mode to recover the data. This mode comes into the picture when both Quick Recovery and Advance Recovery modes fail to recover the required files. In this mode, the Software physically searches the data types like (doc, xls, ppt, zip, etc) without using their names.
