Question : I used Active Undelete to recover files of my hard drive (that I really need) and the files when I go to recover are telling me that it can't be opened because of an error reading a sector. Will your software be able to help me in this situation? I want to repair the sector if possible without losing the information on the drive.
Answer  : Bad sectors are of two types. Physical bad sectors are some physical aberrations on the disk surface caused by minute dust particles, shock to the disk or some manufacturing defect. Logical bad sectors are caused due to de-alignment of magnetic surface. These are caused either because of weakening of the magnetic pulses on the surface, in-consistencies in reading and writing on the sector, certain viruses are also said to cause such de-alignment. If there are physical bad sectors, it is always advisable to backup data (how much ever possible) and then replace the disk. If there are logical bad sectors, then Disk Repair software can repair them. The trial software of Disk Repair only lists the number of physical bad sectors if any. If none, then you may purchase the software (media version only, since it has to be run after booting from a bootable floppy or CD. As far as data recovery from bad sector disks is concerned, Quick Recovery can recover data from such disks. However those files that are having physically bad sectors within them, would be recovered as corrupt (it is like information from within it is has been scratched out). But if bad sectors are in the beginning of the disk (area where the system area-FAT-partition info-operating system files etc) then there are fair chances of recover since, data usually present after these areas. Always connect the disk to be recovered as a secondary/slave on a working system and then perform the recovery. Never install recovery software, etc on the disk from which data is to be recovered.

Question : I have recovered folders and files. When I go through the save process I select the target, hit save, and nothing happens. Did a search looking for the files and found nothing. What now?
Answer  : To save your data first of all on the left side of window where there is tree directory you will find a cross mark just click to it it will be converted to right tick mark now just right click your mouse you will find save option now you can save your data.

Question : What are the different types data recoveries?
 Answer  :

Recovering data lost due to formatting of a hard drive, file deletion, shift + delete (emptying it from the recycle bin), virus corruption comes under Logical data recovery.
